Read More BACKGROUND: Utilizing the successful experiences of countries and local regions can be useful inthe management and control of coronavirus disease‑2019 (COVID‑19), so the research team aimsto determine and extract the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the health systemin the risk management of COVID‑19 using strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT)analytical approach.MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was performed by a qualitative multimethod approach.In addition to reviewing the minutes of meetings and approvals of the Provincial Anti‑CoronaHeadquarters, focused group meetings and in‑depth semi‑structured individual interviews wereconducted. The results were extracted based on the SWOT analytical approach in the form ofstrengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the health system and then based on the SWOTmatrix, the necessary strategies were identified.RESULTS: In the necessary strategies, based on SWOT matrix in SO strategies: SO1, formationof regional health assessment teams; SO2, promotion of preparedness, resilience, and effectiveresponse; SO3, activation of research and training centers; SO4, integrated management,supervision, and coordination; in WO strategies: WO1, analysis and COVID‑19 risk monitoring;WO2, communication and risk information management; WO3, people‑based management; andWO4, activation of local economic institutions and manufacturing centers; in ST: ST1, comprehensivecare system strategies; and ST2, enhancing social trust with a transparency approach; and finallyin WT strategies; WT1, stress management; and WT2, specific financial system design for disastermanagement were identified.CONCLUSION: Now, for the prevention and control of this disease, the need of empathy andparticipation of all human societies is felt more than anything else. These experience and analysisare based on the SWOT approach for the health system to be able to provide solutions and practicalpoints that can be used by stakeholders.

Read More AIM: This study aimed to identify models for the participation of the city council and municipality withthe health system in selected countries.SUBJECTS AND METHODS: This is a descriptive comparative study conducted in 2020 qualitatively.The countries studied were examined in terms of the following characteristics: type of politicalstructure, type of health system, level of cooperation between local government and health system,municipal financing, type of financial participation of local government and health system, methodor institution for participation Created, level of participation, local government influence on healthsystem decisions, advantages and disadvantages of a partnership between local government andhealth system. Data were collected through valid databases (PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and GoogleSearch engine) and website of the World Health Organization, local government, and the Ministryof Health of countries concerned and analyzed in a framework of analysis.RESULTS: Countries were divided into two groups in terms of a partnership between the healthsystem and local governments, which had a distinct partnership between the health system and localgovernment and without their participation. Factors that contribute to the creating and strengtheningof partnerships include beliefs of health authorities and local government, the need for participation,transparency in participatory programs, designing a specific mechanism for participation, localauthority, and financing joint participation plans.CONCLUSION: In countries with planned participation, citizens have better access to services.Citizens’ participation, as well as the private sector, is greater in health issues. In these countries,participation in health financing by the private sector and other related agencies has increased.Planning and service delivery increases according to neighborhood needs. The variety of servicesprovided and the use of new methods of service are more, and in these countries, the focus ofthe Ministry of Health on the preparation of strategies and monitoring the quality of services isincreasing.

Read More CONTEXT AND AIMS: The country development can be promoted through applying policies of theresistance economy in the health system and universities. Therefore, this paper aimed to provide ascientific analysis of resistance economy policies and providing a roadmap for their implementationin the field of health care of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences.MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is a qualitative study. The basis, general purposes, and strategiesof the resistance economy were extracted from the review of the policy of the resistance economywith a political research approach. Then, effective programs and indicators to achieve the goals ofthe resistance economy were proposed by holding 10 sessions of a centralized group discussion.Finally, the implementation of the resistance economy in the deputies of the University of MedicalSciences was approved by these programs and indicators along with other components and Delphiquestionnaire to 30 experts. Framework analysis and descriptive statistics were used to analyze thedata from the group discussion and the Delphi stage, respectively.RESULTS: Implementation of general policies of resistance economy in the field of health andtreatment of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences with eight thematic bases, 39 goals, 54 strategies,and 98 programs and indicators were approved by experts. The eight areas of people‑centered,economic growth, economic justice, support for internal services, economic flexibility, economicstability, economic influence, and economic health were identified as the thematic bases ofcommunicative policies of the resistance economy in the field of health.CONCLUSION: The implementation of resistance economy policies entails planning in the long run,culture‑building, appreciating the resistance economy in health issues, cooperation, and synergyamong different institutions, restructuring the education system at different levels of the health system,and entrepreneurship training.

Read More Background: Family health is one of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) programsconcerning individuals’ and families’ health and development. If properly implemented, family health may ensure the health of human beings and support their self-fulfillment; and maypave the way for bringing up a healthier and better generation by achieving two importantand specific quantitative and qualitative results. This study aims at establishing the existingproblems in the medical education system with respect to family health, which may be managed by the family health professional if a Masters’ course educational program is developed.Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional, descriptive study, five Type-1 and four Type-2 andType-3 universities were randomly selected. Then, the faculty members of health services/publichealth departments, health managers, health and treatment networks managers, personnel ofprovincial health centers in family health units, and also public health B. S. students were surveyedon the existing problems in the national health system which can be solved by family health professional. A questionnaire containing one open-ended and several demographic questions was sentby mail for some and personally handed over to some others. Since the data were of a qualitativenature, first the categories were specified through content analysis and then the opinions of eachcategory of individuals were differentiated based on the relevant categories. Results: Results obtained from the comments of the study population led to specification of problems in health system,which could be solved by the family health senior expert. Such problems were categorized into sixgroups as: Planning and implementation, research, education, management, service-providing, andcultural problems. Conclusion: Given the problems in our nation concerning various family healthissues, the field of family health in the levels of associate and bachelor degrees cannot respond toall public requirements, and health personnel in these levels do not possess various professional,planning, research, and educational skills required to analyze family health problems. Therefore,it is suggested that a Masters’ course educational program be developed.
