Read More BACKGROUND: E‑learning is web‑based learning for education and training. The current globalpandemic crisis created due to COVID‑19 has made worldwide online learning. This study aimed toinvestigate the level of satisfaction and quality of E‑learning in medical universities from the students’point of view during the epidemic of COVID‑19 and assessing the obstacles and solutions proposedto improve the quality of E‑learning.MATERIALS AND METHODS: A cross‑sectional, web‑based study was conducted among 400medical university students of Iran during the epidemic of COVID‑19. After getting written consent,three parts questionnaire contains demographic, user satisfaction, quality questionnaire, and threeopen‑ended questions were distributed randomly using social media. Descriptive analysis, t‑test,Chi‑square, and Pearson correlation coefficient were used to achieve the objective of this study, withsignificance set to P < 0.05. Furthermore, three open‑ended questions were reviewed qualitativelyand the problems and solutions suggested by the students were reported.RESULTS: Based on the findings of the descriptive section, 277 of the respondents were girls (69%)with a mean age of 21 ± 2 years. Sixty‑nine percent of students were studying in medical sciencesuniversities and 31% were studying in Islamic Azad University. The level of satisfaction was in theupper range of low (34.0 ± 10.0); P < 0.001, and intention to reuse was moderate (23.06 ± 6.0);P = 0.064. Student’s perception of quality in most domains was in the upper range of low to medium.User satisfaction, intention to reuse, the quality of knowledge, and participatory quality for evaluatingonline courses were significantly higher in the Azad University group than in medical universities.CONCLUSION: Given that this is the first experience in the use of E‑learning in Iran, both universitieshave not yet fully succeeded in satisfying students and it is necessary to increase the quality ofE‑learning based on student suggestions.

Read More INTRODUCTION: Nowadays websites are among the most important information sources used bymost people. With the spread of websites, especially those related to health issues, the number oftheir visitors also increases, more than half of which are about nutritional information. Therefore,quality analysis of nutrition and diet therapy websites is of outmost importance. This study aims toevaluate the quality of Persian nutrition and diet therapy websites.METHODS: The current work is a survey study and uses an applied study method. The statisticalpopulation consists of 51 Persian websites about nutrition and diet therapy and census method wasused in order to study them. Data gathering was done using a checklist and with direct visit to eachwebsite. Descriptive and analytical statistics were used to analyse the gathered data with the helpof SPSS 21 software.RESULTS: Findings showed that content (66.7%), organization (82.4%), user friendlyinterfaces (52.9%) and total quality (70.6%) of most websites had a mediocre score while the designscore for most of the websites (70.6%) was acceptable also organizational websites had better design,organization and quality compared to private websites. The three websites with the highest generalquality score were the websites of “Novel Diet Therapy,” “Behsite” and “Dr. BehdadiPour” (jointly)and “Dr. Kermani” respectively. Also in the dimension of content the factors of goal, relevance andcredibility, in the dimension of design the factors of color, text and sound, pictures and videos, in thedimension of organization the factors of stability and indexing and in the dimension of user friendlinessthe factors of confidentiality, credibility and personalization had the highest scores.CONCLUSION: The results showed that the design score was higher than other scores. Also thegeneral quality score of the websites was mediocre and was not desirable. Also websites didn’t havesuitable scores in every factor. Since most people search the internet for nutritional and diet therapyinformation, the creators of these websites should endeavor to fix the shortcomings of their websitesand increase the quality of their websites in several different areas.

Read More Introduction: Today, the websites of college and university libraries play an important rolein providing the necessary services for clients. These websites not only allow the users toaccess different collections of library resources, but also provide them with the necessaryguidance in order to use the information. The goal of this study is the quality evaluation of thecollege library websites in Iranian Medical Universities based on the Stover model. Materialand Methods: This study uses an analytical survey method and is an applied study. Thedata gathering tool is the standard checklist provided by Stover, which was modified by theresearchers for this study. The statistical population is the college library websites of theIranian Medical Universities (146 websites) and census method was used for investigation.The data gathering method was a direct access to each website and filling of the checklistwas based on the researchers’ observations. Descriptive and analytical statistics (Analysis ofVariance (ANOVA)) were used for data analysis with the help of the SPSS software. Findings:The findings showed that in the dimension of the quality of contents, the highest averagebelonged to type one universities (46.2%) and the lowest average belonged to type threeuniversities (24.8%). In the search and research capabilities, the highest average belonged totype one universities (48.2%) and the lowest average belonged to type three universities. Inthe dimension of facilities provided for the users, type one universities again had the highestaverage (37.2%), while type three universities had the lowest average (15%). In general the librarywebsites of type one universities had the highest quality (44.2%), while type three universitieshad the lowest quality (21.1%). Also the library websites of the College of Rehabilitation andthe College of Paramedics, of the Shiraz University of Medical Science, had the highest qualityscores. Discussion: The results showed that there was a meaningful difference between thequality of the college library websites and the university types, resulting in college libraries oftype one universities having the highest average score and the college libraries of type threeuniversities having the lowest score.
