Read More BACKGROUND: Utilizing the successful experiences of countries and local regions can be useful inthe management and control of coronavirus disease‑2019 (COVID‑19), so the research team aimsto determine and extract the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the health systemin the risk management of COVID‑19 using strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats (SWOT)analytical approach.MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was performed by a qualitative multimethod approach.In addition to reviewing the minutes of meetings and approvals of the Provincial Anti‑CoronaHeadquarters, focused group meetings and in‑depth semi‑structured individual interviews wereconducted. The results were extracted based on the SWOT analytical approach in the form ofstrengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the health system and then based on the SWOTmatrix, the necessary strategies were identified.RESULTS: In the necessary strategies, based on SWOT matrix in SO strategies: SO1, formationof regional health assessment teams; SO2, promotion of preparedness, resilience, and effectiveresponse; SO3, activation of research and training centers; SO4, integrated management,supervision, and coordination; in WO strategies: WO1, analysis and COVID‑19 risk monitoring;WO2, communication and risk information management; WO3, people‑based management; andWO4, activation of local economic institutions and manufacturing centers; in ST: ST1, comprehensivecare system strategies; and ST2, enhancing social trust with a transparency approach; and finallyin WT strategies; WT1, stress management; and WT2, specific financial system design for disastermanagement were identified.CONCLUSION: Now, for the prevention and control of this disease, the need of empathy andparticipation of all human societies is felt more than anything else. These experience and analysisare based on the SWOT approach for the health system to be able to provide solutions and practicalpoints that can be used by stakeholders.

Read More Introduction: Today, the role of people in crisis management plans is of particular importance dueto the prepared community approach. It is difficult or impossible to attract public involvement dueto the low level of public perception of risk. Therefore, it is necessary to discover the status of riskperception and its affecting factors. This study was conducted to investigate factors affecting thestrategies of disaster risk perception improvement.Materials and Methods: This systematic review study was conducted in 2017 using extensiveelectronic and library literature searches in the Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed electronicdatabases. The preliminary findings included 1030 studies. Out of 941 retrieved references, 925references were excluded because they did not meet the objectives of this review or did not focusdirectly on general population. Finally, 16 articles were selected for further investigation.Results: The extracted variables were divided into four general domains: personal, psychological,socioeconomic, and cultural factors. Personal characteristics included sex, age, marriage, level ofeducation, personal knowledge, and disaster personal experience. Psychological factors comprisedemotions (fear and insecurity), mental images (beliefs, attitudes), and internal and external control.Cultural factors such as, belief, values, norms, faith, religious, and protective spirit were effective ingeneral perception of disasters risk. Socioeconomic factors such as, income, livelihood, insurancecoverage, trust, and fair access to land and resources were also influential. The strategies to improvepublic disaster risk perception were educational, participatory, incentive, confidence building,supportive, managerial and cultural ones. A family‑centered approach is recommended for the betterimplementation of strategies.Conclusion: The improvement of risk perception requires government planning in different fieldssuch as education, research, health, and culture, with an emphasis on social groups especially family.
